Songbook #8

This one of the Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs, an album that gets plenty of love for its songwriting. I don't need to explicate the song- it's done quite nicely here (essentially a wiki page with collaborative efforts to parse the meaning of the songs- really interesting). Additionally, there's a book by LD Beghtol, who played with the band, called 69 Love Songs: A Field Guide, which is a nice way to experience the album. The lyrics here are clever, and there's some interesting stuff going on with the switching of gender roles, but really it's just fun to listen to.
